Why you should become a digital nomad instead of working in office
Work hard and you will get everything, they say. But does it mean that you should be 24/7 in the office? There are people called digital nomads, — a special category of people who uses digital technologies to fulfill professional duties while leading a mobile lifestyle. What particular activity they do that allows them to travel while working and work while traveling? Learn below.
When you work a typical workweek (40 hours a week) you still have evenings and weekends. Even if all you can get is a min wage job, that is still about $1200–1500 (for North America and Europe). On that money you are able to spend your vacation in many South-American and Asian countries. Then, like with anything you work your way up either upskilling and applying to better jobs, or learning a skill you can freelance with, or starting a business. This way you can go to the point of, for example, working about 25 hours a week and earning more (say, $ 4000 per month) which is a preferable earnings balance over not working too much.
And what about the career of the nomads? The belief that work hard to earn a lot is not wrong, but there’s a slight misconception that digital nomads lead an easy life career wise because of the content on social media. Many nomad entrepreneurs actually work very hard too. Nomads, that are employee, can work the same 40 hours as everybody else, have the same free time and the same hobbies. But since everyone travels differently and leads a different lifestyle even within the “digital nomad” sphere, the income needed is subjective to personal needs.

But how do these people manage to even spend time outside of their laptop then? Don’t you need a decent wage in order to provide yourself with all of these international removals? Actually, there are different ways to gain the freedom away from the laptop. One of the ways to gain true financial, location and time freedom is by way of high ticket affiliate marketing. The reason this works so well is because your fulfillment is done for you, the product is already created, and since it is high ticket as opposed to low ticket you have to put in less work for much more income. You are just paid to essentially refer customers to an already proven product. You set your schedule yourself, and it allows you to travel freely and surf in Bali, or sip wine in Italy, or lay on the beach in Tulum.
At the same time, for some people travel has never required a high income. For example, somebody can keep expenses at or below $1,000/mo in a variety of situations. Many people in the USA have savings, a home that they rent, etc. Everything again depends on your lifestyle, where you’re coming from and how you manage to budget while traveling. Also, not moving around frequently and not moving far each time you do move can make a difference.
Thus, the life of a nomad is not something difficult and incomprehensible if you properly plan your life. For those who are just starting their journey as a remote worker, there are special co-working clubs and camps in which experienced nomads can share their experience, for example, the remotecamp. Do not be afraid to try new things and then, perhaps, the life of the nomad won’t seem so mysterious anymore!
